VELUX Passivhaus windows are designed to meet British Standard EN ISO 12567-2 and they are Passivhaus certified to offer a warmer home or building and lower energy bills. Three layers of outer-glazing combine with two layers of inner-glazing to offer a u-value of 0.51 W/m2K. This range from VELUX is the only range certified for installation in Passivhaus builds in cold climates on the UK market, when installed using a complementary range of slate and tile flashings.
This quad-glazed VELUX Passivhaus window has a white PU frame for sleek and contemporary styling and a modern look. Solar powered, this window doesn’t need to be plugged into a mains connection as the integrated solar cell in the window charges the window itself. It’s also fitted with a rain sensor which directs the window to close
This window can be controlled remotely by a VELUX INTEGRA control pad which comes with pre-set ventilation programmes. Each of the programmes can be changed to different timings or moved entirely. For example, the ‘Vacation’ programme will open and close solar windows and any solar-powered blinds when homeowners go on holiday to deter would-be thieves.
Centre-pivot opening allows the window to turn 180 degrees using the control bar or the VELUX INTEGRA control pad. This means that this window can be installed lower than top-hung windows for example as the window doesn’t need as much clearance.
Suitable for roof pitches between 15° and 90°, this range of VELUX Passivhaus windows is compatible with EDJ 2000 flashings for tiles and EDN 2000 flashings for slates. BBA-certified alongside the Passivhaus institute certification, there is a 10-year guarantee on this window.
