These SureTwist 8mm (Thick Core) TC Plus fixings are used for securing counter battens over a layer of insulation into the structural roofing timbers. They have enhanced compressive and shear loads performance and help inhibit bending and deflection over a longer fixing distance.
Manufactured from 304-grade austenitic stainless steel, these SureTwist Plus fixings offer an exceptional solution. Being rolled from a plain round wire, the fins are work-hardened to a very high level whilst the core remains relatively soft. The subsequent twisting process puts the fins into tension and the core into compression. During the manufacturing process, the tensile strength of the base material is more than doubled. What's more, the pronounced fins over the core make the bonding characteristics of the SureTwist Profile far superior to alternative standard reinforcing materials.
To ensure impurities in the raw materials are detected, and inferior materials are discarded, tension is induced through the helical section by the twisting motion in the manufacturing process. This is to guarantee the safety of these fixings.
SureTwist's Helical Anchorage System is an austenitic stainless steel, Grade 1.4301 or 1.4401 - DIN EN 10088 Part 3 (1995), AISI - 304 or 316, reinforcing material that has many unique properties (Or 8.8 High Tensile Steel for specific applications).
