Find out moreSuperFOIL SFUF is a versatile and high-performing insulation product that can be used in a range of locations, including floors, walls, and roofs. Its slim profile makes it ideal for applications requiring slim thermal insulation, such as under screeded or laminate floors, and over or under suspended floors. With grid markings that make for easy laying, it is also suitable for insulating underfloor radiant heating pipes.
SFUF is not only a top-performing insulation product but also contributes to the air tightness of your building, it delivers sound insulation and can reduce impact noise by up to an estimated 22dB, while also serving as a thermal break, eliminating and lessening cold bridging when turned up walls.
With 13 layers of reflective foil, thermo foam separation layers, and a PE layer, radiant energy is reflected back into the room to meet or improve uValues in both new build and renovation projects. Its ability to resist the passage of moisture and reflect heat makes it a standout choice for hot water underfloor heating systems and other slimline insulation needs.
When using SFUF with wet underfloor heating, lay it on a clean, dry, and smooth surface, with 100mm lapping up the wall. Follow manufacturer's instructions for underfloor heating and screeding. For SFUF over joists or suspended floors, start at the wall edge with 100mm lapping and staple in place, butt the edges together and seal with foil tape, then install decking to manufacturer's instructions. For SFUF under joists on suspended floors, roll it out and staple in place, butt edges together, and seal with non-foil jointing tape. Seal SFUF around the perimeter or lap it up the wall above the floor deck.

Question:
Can this be glued down
Answer:
Preferably not, the product is purely designed to be mechanically fixed via staples to ensure a clean installation. Glue or adhesive can detrimentally affect the foil perfomance.

Question:
Which way up should SuperFOIL SFUF be installed?
Answer:
The branded foil side, with the protective polythene layer, should face up into the room.
Question:
What tape should be used with SuperFOIL SFUF?
Answer:
SuperFOIL Superior Tape can be used for sand cement screed applications and any other uses such as window reveals, wrapping steels etc. If using a liquid anhydrous screed, a good quality 100mm wide non-foil tape should be used.
Question:
Can SFUF be installed directly under screed?
Answer:
Yes, SuperFOIL SFUF includes a protective layer of polythene which separates the insulation layers from the screed. All seams should be butt-jointed and sealed with tape to create a continuous barrier. If a liquid anhydrous screed is to be used, extra care should be taken to prevent the screed from coming into contact with the screed to prevent the foil reacting with the screed. SFUF can be used under screed applications and many other uses such as window reveals, wrapping steels etc.
