Find out moreSFBA Met Poly is a multi-layered air bubble insulation, featuring outer layers of aluminium metallised PET for a durable and watertight insulation system. Resistant to corrosion, waterproof and able to resists the passage of moisture through walls, floors, and ceilings, SFBA Met Poly is a high-performance insulation system that maximises thermal capabilities by utilising low emissivity air gaps.
Versatile, SFBA MP is compatible with use in under-floor insulation, wall insulation, and dry lining insulation for cellars. It can also be employed in industrial settings, as well as in greenhouses. In terms of thermal performance, it supplies rValues of 1.03 R for pitched roofs, 1.45 R for walls and 2.77 R for floors.
The SuperFOIL SFBA is the top bubble foil insulation system in the UK. Its design is tailored to provide exceptional insulation performance while offering a quick and simple installation process. Similar to the way a mirror reflects light, SFBA reflects heat and acts as a fantastic radiant barrier that supplements existing insulation. As a result, it maintains warmth during the winter and coolness during the summer for a comfortable space.
To optimise thermal performance and prevent moisture from penetrating the structure, SFBA must be installed on the "warm" side and all seams and holes sealed meticulously. A continuous barrier must be created with SFBA to keep vapour out of walls and roofs. For proper sealing, SF jointing tape seals laps that should be at least 50mm. When sealing penetrations, extra care must be taken. Any breach caused by construction elements should be sealed using SuperFOIL tape.

Question:
could this be used to improve heat loss from hot tub
Answer:
While it can be applied as an intermediatry layer in certain applications, we'd strongly advise against trying to install this into a high moisture environment such as hot tub in a bathroom as it will provide little to no thermal benefit.
Question:
What is the best way to fix the insulation to wood?
Answer:
The SFBA MP should be fixed and joined with SF tape, if mechanical fixing is unavoidable then ensure that you seal the perforation with tape to ensure there is no thermal leakage.
Question:
Can plasterboard be installed over this?
Answer:
Yes, battens can be installed over this then plasterboard fixed to the battens.
