Description

When used at ceiling level, this loft roll is typically fitted in two layers, with the first layer positioned between the joists and the second layer over and at right angles to the joists.

This high-performance product consists of a flexible low-density glass mineral wool quilt, which is lightweight, resilient and non-combustible. This roll is 1140mm wide and partially perforated to produce either two rolls that are 570mm wide or three rolls 380mm wide, making it a highly convenient solution.

This Knauf loft roll is designed to meet strict British and European standards and has impressive thermal conductivity and thermal resistance.

Insulation on its own cannot provide a uValue, only a level of thermal resistance and thermal conductivity - a uValue is the overall thermal perfomance of an entire structure or property.

Hi, I want to cover 44mtrs squared. I think I need 20 rolls to do this in double thickness. Does that seem right. Also can I confirm this doesn't itch, I can install without wearing a mask or protective clothes and it doesn't degrade toxicly? Thanks

Answer:

Each pack covers 6.84m2 so if you wanted to cover 44m2 in double thickness you'd need approx 13 packs. Also being a fibrous material it would be more advisable to wear protective clothing when installing.

Can I use this material for insulating a suspended timber floor on the ground level?

Answer:

You can do yes. But as this product is not rigid in any sense of the word, you would need to provide additional support to help keep the loft roll insulation in place I.e insulation netting, to stop it from falling through.
