Find out moreThe 150mm thick Loft Roll 44 by Knauf is perfect for the effective thermal insulation of pitched roofs at ceiling level as well as suspended timber floors. When used at ceiling level, it is generally installed in two layers, with the first layer placed between the joists and the second layer over, at right angles to the joists.
These high-performance, energy saving rolls consist of a flexible, lightweight, resilient and non-combustible low-density glass mineral wool quilt. They are 1140mm wide and partially perforated, allowing you to opt for either two rolls that are 570mm wide or three rolls 380mm wide, making them suitable for a wide range of settings.
The Roll 44 range by Knauf is rot proof, odourless and non-hygroscopic. What's more, the rolls do not encourage the growth of mould, bacteria or fungi and will not sustain vermin.
This pack has coverage of 9.18m² and 3.40 m²K/W thermal resistance, as well as 0.044 W/mK thermal conductivity.
Question:
Is this flame resistant?
Answer:
This product is A1 fire rated, meaning it is non combustible and will not contribute to the spread of flame.
Question:
Can I use this material for insulating a suspended timber floor on the ground level?
Answer:
You can do yes. But as this product is not rigid in any sense of the word, you would need to provide additional support to help keep the loft roll insulation in place I.e insulation netting, to stop it from falling through.
