Find out moreThe Kingspan Nilvent Breather Felt Vapour Control Layer is designed as a breathable membrane suitable for unventilated pitched roofs and timber frame walls. Constructed with three layers of polyolefin, Kingspan Nilvent offers a laminated structure.
The top layer of Nilvent serves as a shield against UV rays and mechanical harm, while the middle layer functions as the primary functional layer and the bottom layer ensures durability by providing resistance against abrasion. Featuring a light grey upper surface adorned with the Kingspan Nilvent logo, as well as a dark grey lower surface, this product offers a comprehensive solution for its intended applications.
At rafter pitches ranging from 12.5° to 14°, it should have a 150mm minimum lap, 100mm minimum lap from 15° to 24° and 75mm minimum lap at 35° or above.
Kingspan Nilvent can be fixed to a timber frame wall both horizontally and vertically. Additionally, when it comes to slating and tiling, you can slate and tile on top of Kingspan Nilvent just as you would any other pitched roof - the only difference being that, in some occasions, the slate/tile battens (if necessary) are fixed to prior applied counter-battens. For rooflights, it is important to follow the instructions set out by the rooflight manufacturer. If you lack this information, cut and fit Kingspan Nilvent tidily around the rooflight kerb, with an upstand of 50mm.
