JCW Acoustic’s acoustic batten levelling cradles can offer up to a 28-decibel reduction in impact noise and airbourne noise. The cradles, which are manufactured from recycled materials, can accommodate battens up to 48mm wide for levelling uneven, stepped or cambered concrete floors. After arranging the cradles and battens as desired on the concrete floor, the build-up provides a level surface to install a timber deck.
Perfect for office floors, apartment buildings and schools where a lot of sound can travel from one room to another, the sound of footsteps, moving furniture, conversations and entertainment systems will be absorbed to offer a more peaceful environment. Combine these batten levelling cradles with other JCW acoustic products for a complete soundproofing system.
Not only does the JCW acoustic batten levelling cradle level the surface and create sound reductions, it provides a space for services to go unnoticed and be accessed easily for maintenance. Water pipes, electrical wiring and other services are all suitable for laying beneath the timber deck created. When combining the cradle and risers a whole host of combinations can be created to allow different steps and heights to be achieved.
Fully compliant with Scottish Section 5 building regulations and England and Wales’ Approved Document E regulations, it’s recommended that cradles are spaced at 400mm batten centers with each cradle accepting 4 batten ends as an efficient method of support. When supporting higher weight loads such as kitchen appliances it’s recommended that batten centers are at 300mm and cross battens are used.
