Questions & Answers

Question:

Is this the product I use to fasten polystyrene external 50mm insulation boards to a park home (timber). It appears to comprise of the fixing, plus a plastic nail which I assume can be driven straight into the external timber park home wall.

Answer:

These insulation anchors are used to mechanically fix EPS (expanded polystyrene) and XPS (extruded polystyrene) boards to a vertical plane, It has a sheath and a plastic nail to allow for direct penetration into the surface,

Question:

How are fixed these into masonry?

Answer:

These are hammered into place.

Question:

Can I hammer these into a brick wall, or do I drill? Looking to fix 40mm insullatito brick wall no cavity. Thanks Bill

Answer:

For something like this, I would recommend pre-drilling to suit before the fixings go in. If you tried to hammer them in, I would be concerned that they would snap and break rendering them unusable.
