Find out moreConstructed from injection-moulded polypropylene under BS EN ISO 9001 and designed to open with a push-up motion, Glidevale AH4 loft hatches comply with the loft hatch specifications set out in Building Regulations Approved Documents L and C. As a result, they are certified to deliver superior performance.
Equipped with a complete loft hatch system that effectively seals to the ceiling, the hatch is thermally insulated and maintains loft or ceiling insulation, in turn reducing heat loss. Furthermore, the seals in the system help to minimise the chance of condensation by limiting the amount of water vapour migration.
Both domestic and commercial buildings benefit from the twin latches and anti-wind uplift mechanism that provide protection for both the hatch and the items stored in the loft space.
Please note:
Question:
What is the difference between the AH4 and the AH4 part L?
Answer:
The L variant has a higher amount of insulation resulting in a lower thermal conductivity rating - 0.35 W/m2K
Question:
My hatch door has fallen down and has broken if I order an AH4 will it fit as I don’t know how old this house is and will it just be the door Thankyou Debbie
Answer:

Question:
Is the AH4 air-tight?
Answer:
The AH4 comes with efficient air and vapour seals to comply with BS 5250, Approved Document C, Robust Details 2002 and the recommendations of the BRE Digest 270 and BRE IP4/06.
Question:
It looks like there are some latches missing from the frame of the AH4?
Answer:
The AH4 shares the same frame as the AH5 hinge-down trap. As such, whilst there are holes for latches to be attached, they are not required for the AH4 variant and cannot be added or purchased at a later date.
Question:
Why isn’t the door staying in place?
Answer:
When installing the AH4, the door of the hatch should be passed through the opening and dropped on top of the frame so the door is pushed into the loft space when entering.
Question:
What is the hatch made of and what colours does it come in?
Answer:
The hatch is made from injection-moulded polypropylene and comes with an anti-wind uplift catch. The hatch only come in a lightly textured scuff-resistant white finish.
Question:
What are the dimensions of the AH4?
Answer:
The frame of the hatch is 717mm x 555mm with an accessible opening of 680mm x 520mm. All models meet the NHBC minimum opening sizes. (NHBC Standards 7.2-D14)
