EcoTherm's EcoDeck is a tough, structural, pre insulated thermal roof decking for flat roofs that enables you to deck and insulate in one simple application.
Comprising a fibre free polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation core faced with tough, exterior grade 6mm plywood used as pre-insulated foil-backed thermal insulating decking for flat roofs. It is ready to fix and finish using basic tools and traditional roofing techniques.
A flat roof should always allow for water channelling and drainage to prevent issues such as ponding. Ponding can lead to premature failures in the waterproofing system and the need to refurbish an area or the entire flat roof before the end of its intended design lifetime. Standing water will promote the growth of plants, moss and algae and, in extreme circumstances, can add to roof loading and an uneven deck. These issues will only contribute to a drainage problem and over time could cause the roof to fail. Installing tapered insulation also negates the requirement for a structural roof fall, helping to reduce the overall cost of the roof.
Eco-Deck can be used in combination with the following waterproofing systems:
Suitable for use in new build or upgrading the thermal performance of existing roofs, providing a cost effective means of reducing CO2 emissions and compliance with Building Regulations/Standards.

Question:
Can a GRP finish be used on this?
Answer:
I would consider looking into putting a thick layer of ply over the top to help distribute the weight more evenly, as the thickness of the ply on the insulation board is only 6mm at present. When walking on it you'd need a minimum of 18mm for it to be a trafficable surface, then you are free to install the GRP roofing over the top as per manufacturers instructions.
