Find out moreFabricated from rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) with a blend of blowing agents that have low global warming potential (GWP) and zero ozone depletion potential (ODP), this Celotex insulated plasterboard has been purpose designed to enable the installation of both plasterboard and thermal insulation in one operation and so reduces installation time.
This high-performance board can be used for a variety of applications such as timber frame lining, solid masonry walls, pitched and flat roofs and the "underneath" layer of insulation under and in between rafters and joists. Ideal for both refurbishment and new build projects, it can easily be used to upgrade to current building regulation standards.
Please note:
Question:
is this foil backed and plasterboard faced?
Answer:
This is a paper-faced board laminated to a 12.5mm tapered edge plasterboard.
Question:
What I would use to stick it to a internal wall and will it help as a sound proofer?
Answer:
We have a really good guide which shows how to actually install the product via adhesive or fixings - https://www.insulationsuperstore.co.uk/help-and-advice/project-guides/insulation/how-to-install-insulated-plasterboard/ - It will provide some acoustic benefit but would be best used in conjunction with a form of acoustic plasterboard.
Question:
What is the R value?
Answer:
The R value of this product is 1.20(m2.K/W)
Question:
Can I nail gun this directly to the interior timber wall of a garden summerhouse or is it required to have a space between the wood and insulation side of the plasterboard?
Answer:
With PIR board you are still reccomended to have an air gap to allow for ventilation and compression. Normally around 25mm if you can.
Question:
Does this product have a vapour barrier?
Answer:
Yes this product has an integral vapour barrier between the insulation and plasterboard.
Question:
Does this board act as or have an integral vapour barrier.
Answer:
The foil layer in this product would act as an integral vapour control layer, and it's aim would be to help control the flow of moisture, to help stop the likes of moisture condensating and damp formingin the building structure.
Question:
Can this board be applied direct to existing plasterboard ceilings to improve insulation values?
Answer:
These boards can be applied directly to the ceiling, as long as the exisiting plasterboard is dry and in good condition. Make sure you buy the mechanical fixings long enough to penetrate through both the insulated plasterboard and the existing plasterboard and into the rafters/beams so you get a decent embedment depth.
