Find out moreSuited to direct decoration or Thistle plaster finish, this British Gyproc Plasterboard Square Edge Wallboard is applicable where structural, base fire and acoustic levels are specified. With an aerated gypsum core encased in and securely bonded to strong paper liners, it is ideal for drylining surfaces. It is certified to BES 6001 and rated "Excellent".
During application, fix the boards with the decorative side facing out to achieve joint treatment or a skim plaster finish. Never force the boards into position but lightly butt them together. Install the fixings no closer than 13mm from cut edges and 10mm from bound edges. Position cut edges to internal angles whenever possible, eradicating paper burrs with fine sandpaper. Stagger horizontal and vertical board joints between layers by a 600mm minimum. Position the boards at the centre line of framing where this supports board edges or ends.
When plastering, the ivory face of this Gyproc Wallboard can be plastered with either Thistle MultiFinish or Thistle BoardFinish. There should be a minimum delay between finishing the lining and starting plastering. The Gyproc jointing materials deliver strong joint reinforcement and a continuous crack-resistant sleek surface ready for priming and the finishing decorative touches. Multiple jointing specifications are available to suit the application method, site preference and board type. After the joint treatment has dried, any decorator's preparation and decorations should be completed as soon as possible.
This Gypsum Wallboard can be cut using a plasterboard saw or by scoring with a sharp knife and snapping it over a straight edge. Holes for socket or switch boxes must be cut out before the boards are fitted using a utility saw or sharp knife. Hand and power tools should be handled carefully, following the manufacturer's recommendations when cutting the boards. Power tools should only be made use of by people who have been safely trained and instructed. Suitable personal protective equipment should also be worn.
