This YBS BreatherQuilt is Agrément Certified and accepted by NHBC, ensuring that it meets the building industry standards. What's more, its built-in double-sided tape makes installation easy. Its flexibility allows for straightforward rolling out across the rafters, stapling in place and securing with the integrated tape. The overlapping method of installation also helps to minimise condensation risk and eliminates the potential for thermal bridging.
This breathable insulation roll features a waterproof outer membrane that withstands exposure for up to four weeks. Its unique construction makes it an ideal choice for reflecting heat back into your room and guarding against condensation and energy transfer. Question:
Can this be installed room side of the rafter if this is breathable? I have an old barn and was think of insulating between the rafters and then installing this before plasterboard or will I need a vapour barrier over the top again, I won't have a breathable membrane/vapour barrier on the cold side under the roof sheets as it's an existing roof.
Answer:
This is designed to be installed on the cold side of the roof, unfortunately your best if you don't have a pre installed membrane then you'd need to pull up the sheeting so this can be installed.
Question:
Is this product plastic and does it have any chemical treatment for fire on it please?
Answer:
It is a multifoil product (aluminium) and is not chemically treated for fire although has a fire classification rating of Euroclass E.
