How should I calculate the correct size BodenWärme heating kit?

These heating mats cannot be cut to size or shortened so it is essential to choose the right size. First, calculate the whole floor space area in metres squared (m²). Next, deduct any space occupied by fixed furniture with less than 50mm clearance from the floor to eliminate the risk of hot spots. Once you have a total area minus the deductions, subtract an additional 10% to allow for the spacing between the mats and around the perimeter of the room. This final number is your required kit size in m². A single thermostat can control up to 24m². Areas larger than 24m² should be controlled with multiple thermostats and divided into separate zones.
