You might be looking to insulate your home with something more environmentally-friendly, or your project may have environmental targets meaning you'll have source something away from traditional insulation. Eco insulation products have a wide range of choices, so we've pulled together some insulation made from old jeans to plastic bottles for you.

The Soprema Pavatextil is made from end-of life textiles and clothing such as denim, is easy to handle and cut to size on site meaning little wastage. It's a great acoustic insulator too as it's highly dense. SupaSoft insulation is also made from recycled materials, PET plastic bottles, is completely breathable, contains zero harmful chemicals, binders or adhesives and is made in the UK keeping transport impacts down.

Thermafleece CosyWool is also produced in the UK. Using wool from British sheep, it's a 75% wool insulation produced in combination with recycled fibres. The wool blend increases the density of the insulation meaning it's an excellent thermal and acoustic product. Natrahemp by Thermafleece is made from the fibres of hemp, a home-grown, low-impact and fast-growing crop. It's completely harmless to handle unlike glass wool, and is a dense insulation meaning it is easy to friction fit between rafters, joists and studs.

If you wanted a completely natural insulation,  Sheep Wool insulation is 100% wool which means it has no environmental impact. Wool is naturally occuring, requires a fraction of the energy to produce compared to traditional insulation and is completely biodegradable at the end of its life.
